Making the Most of a Rough Trip
We had to make a quick trip to Tennessee to take care of some family matters. We were only gone for four days. Drove down Thursday, wrapped everything up on Friday, and then took our time getting home over the weekend.
Just to be clear: we only did tastings at each stop, and either bought a bottle to bring home or didn’t buy anything at all. And of course, we took turns driving. Especially if one of us enjoyed a tasting spot a little more than the other. 😉
Here’s a little rundown of our route:
Started in Cookeville, TN
Saturday Stops:
Old Glory Distillery – Clarksville, TN
Beachaven Vineyards & Winery – Clarksville, TN
MB Roland Distillery – Pembroke, KY
King David’s – Poplar Bluff, MO (we stayed the night there)
Sunday Stops:
Wire Road Brewing – Battlefield, MO (coffee + breakfast from a food truck)
Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield – Battlefield, MO
Back to Wire Road to sample their beer 😉
Keltoi Winery – Oronogo, MO (only about 2.5 hours from Wichita!)
It was great to see family, even if the trip was short. I think we made the most of our drive home.
Total trip was 12 hours but we just did 6 hours each day.
Enjoy the photos below from our trip!
