We’ve always been drawn to places that tell a story the moment you walk in. Across the Midwest, we tend to choose boutique and historic hotels over traditional stays because they feel more connected to the destination itself. Each of these properties has offered something distinct, whether it was history, design, atmosphere, or simply a memorable moment tied to travel, celebration, or work.

We won tickets to the Missouri State Fair from Missouri Wines. We stopped at 10 different winery booths around the fair and it came with tickets to see Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms, and Spin Doctors.

We had to make a quick trip to Tennessee to take care of some family matters. We were only gone for four days. Drove down Thursday, wrapped everything up on Friday, and then took our time getting home over the weekend. So of course we had to make some stops!
